Biography

Servant Leader • Community Advocate • Transport Professional

Bbosa Kiyingi stands at the intersection of leadership, business, and family life, carrying each identity with a sense of purpose shaped by his Ugandan roots and his British journey. A British citizen born in Uganda, he pursued his education there and excelled in business management studies before building a life of service, hard work, and community commitment in the United Kingdom.

Today, Bbosa lives in Ipswich with his wife and two children. He works for Debach Enterprises Limited as a night heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driver and is currently upskilling to become a qualified transport manager. His professional path reflects the same values that define his public life: humility, discipline, and a deep belief in continuous growth.

A Foundation of Leadership and Service

At just 24, Bbosa was elected to the Uganda National Assembly, where he served a full five‑year term. During his time in Parliament, he contributed to national oversight as a member of the Public Service and Local Government Committee and the HIV/AIDS Committee. He also represented Uganda internationally as a delegate to the Inter‑Parliamentary Union between 2011 and 2016.

These experiences strengthened his commitment to servant leadership—leadership rooted in listening, empathy, humility, and responsibility.

Inspired by Legacy, Driven by Purpose

Bbosa draws inspiration from his grandfather, the late Antonio Bbosa, who named him Mutakoowa—“one who never gets tired.” Antonio served in the King’s African Rifles (KAR), fighting alongside British forces in Burma (now Myanmar) in 1945, and later became a respected community figure in Uganda. His courage, resilience, and service to others continue to guide Bbosa’s work ethic and his determination to turn challenges into opportunities.

A Vision for Stronger Communities

In Ipswich, Bbosa is deeply concerned about the everyday issues that shape residents’ quality of life. His priorities include:

  • Expanding access to sufficient and secure housing to reduce homelessness.
  • Ensuring well‑maintained roads and faster responses to potholes to protect vehicles and improve safety.
  • Providing affordable parking solutions to ease congestion, especially around Ipswich Town FC on match days.
  • Tackling anti‑social behaviour to keep community spaces safe and welcoming.
  • Reducing fly‑tipping by promoting better use of the Ipswich Recycling Centre and improving waste management.

These are practical, resident‑focused concerns rooted in his belief that strong communities are built through shared responsibility and responsive local leadership.

Standing for Public Office

Guided by his values and lifelong commitment to service, Bbosa is standing as the Conservative candidate for Councillor on both the Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk County Council, representing Gipping Ward. He offers his experience, his work ethic, and his dedication to servant leadership to help build a community where every resident feels supported, heard, and valued.
