Last week Ipswich Borough Council voted on whether to cancel this years elections to spend more time on Local Government Re-organisation.

The Conservative Group at IBC believe all elections should take place in Ipswich this year and voted for the option for them to go ahead. But Labour, which controls Ipswich, explicity and unashamedly voted to CANCEL the elections due in May.

Democracy cannot be denied, and it should not matter whether you think you will win, or lose. We are representatives of the public, and the people of Ipswich deserve their say.

Cllr Ian Fisher, Conservative Leader, said, "Reform complain on social media, but failed to even turn up to the Borough Council meeting to observe proceedings or ask questions in the public Q&A session. If they HAD, they would have seen Conservatives believe in democracy, unlike it seems the Labour party."
