Working together, local MP Ben Gummer and Conservative run Suffolk County Council, have worked hard to transform Ipswich into the strong, vibrant county town that local people have long wanted. Plans are now being drawn up for improving the A14/A12 interchange and a new heritage centre.

This strong partnership has begun to show results. A transformation that will bring benefits for every Ipswich resident.

A BETTER COPDOCK INTERCHANGE

As a result of continued concern about the safety for all road users at the Copdock Interchange, the County Council has submitted plans to Highways England for a flyover from the A12 to the A14 east (heading  towards Felixstowe). Highways England, who control all major truck roads in the UK, will decide on funding in the next couple of years.

PRESERVING SUFFOLK’S HERITAGE

The Hold is a planned heritage centre to be located on the north side of the university campus near the New Suffolk College buildings. It will be home to 900 years of Suffolk Archives and will replace the Suffolk Record
Office in Gatacre Road. The £17m project is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (£11m), Suffolk
County Council (£5m) & UCS (£1m). Its doors are set to open in 2019.

However this is all under threat by Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour party, whose plans locally for the County Council would bankrupt it within months and put these developments at risk.

Only by electing a Conservative County Councillor where you live, can you ensure a bright, prosperous future for Ipswich.

Don’t let Labour destroy Ipswich’s future, vote Conservative.
