This year we are pleased to welcome Alex Deane as our speaker. Alex Deane is Managing Director and head of the UK Public Affairs practice at the global advisory firm FTI Consulting. He was Chief of Staff to David Cameron and Tim Collins during their respective periods as Shadow Secretaries of State for Education in opposition and served as an adviser for the Australian Liberal Party’s re-election campaign under John Howard. Alex took a sabbatical from FTI Consulting in 2016 to serve as the Executive Director of the Grassroots Out Movement, an umbrella organisation representing nine campaign groups which sought a Leave vote in the EU Referendum.
Often appearing in the media as a political commentator, Alex is a Sky News regular and a BBC Dateline London panellist. He was a the founding Director of Big Brother Watch and served as an elected Common Councilman in the City of London Corporation, sitting on the main decision-making body in the Square Mile, the Policy and Resources Committee.
