We are delighted to announce that John Carnell has been elected as the leader of the Conservative group on Ipswich borough council. John made a statement saying "I am very pleased to be elected as Leader of the Group and will ensure that we hold the Labour Administration to account for its actions. We will stand up for local people and voice their concerns. In particular we will press the new Administration to protect the interests of Council tax payers by avoiding unnecessary expenditure whilst maintaining high quality public services. We will provide constructive and responsible opposition."
