IPSWICH BOROUGH CONTINUES TO CUT JOBS

  • Local News

Although Labour's council leader, David Ellesemere, continues to talk up the need to create jobs, it is interesting to note that a recent report to the HR Committee revealed that 146 employees left Ipswich Borough Council during 2011, and a further 56 have departed during the first 6 months of 2012.

There are further losses in the frame, as the top team at the borough is restructured. In the meantime, the concil is recruiting a 'tweeter' at £19,500 p.a. and will be spending £42500 on a 6-month trial to reintroduce Angle, the council's newspaper.
