GREAT NEWS FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CONSERVATIVES
NATIONAL HEADLINES
Number of people in work 30.8 million (never higher before).
Employment rate - 73% (highest since 2005).
Unemployment level 1.914m (lowest since 2008) – down 58,000 in the quarter.
Unemployment rate 5.8% (lowest since 2008).
Number of vacancies 700,000 (never higher) – as a result many more people will find work in the coming months.
Average earnings up 1.8% - and with the fall in inflation meaning lower costs of living.
IPSWICH
In the last year, the number of people claiming JSA is down 902. Youth and general employment has never been lower in the town.
Thanks to Ben Gummer, we now have the Mygo youth centre (pictured) offering all young people in Ipswich and the surrounding area free training, career and employment support.
The facts are transparent and clear. The Conservatives long term plan is bringing about this economic turn-around, when Labour predicted 3 million would be on the dole by now. The UK and Ipswich cannot afford the risk of a left-wing Labour government destroying our hard-earned gains & jobs.
