GOOD NEWS FOR HARD WORKING PEOPLE IN IPSWICH

With the UK economy on a strong road of recovery, all the statistics about UK plc are on a positive trajectory.

Unemployment has fallen to its lowest since the beginning of 2009. The number of people in work is at a record high of 30.5 million.

Ipswich has seen its share of jobs growth as well. Since Ben Gummer became the Conservative MP for Ipswich, his work as part of the government’s successful economic policies, has enabled the number of Ipswich residents on Job Seekers Allowance fall by 26%, to about 2700.

Youth unemployment has fallen from 1010 to 605 – a substantial and impressive reduction.

These people who are now working can now take pride in earning their own money, and supporting their families, and not having to rely on welfare payments. This is only coming about because of the decisive and bold measures that Ben and other Conservative MPs are taking in Westminster. As a result the UK is one of the fastest growing economies in the G7 and we have finally extracted ourselves from the economic black hole created by Labour’s great recession of 2008/09.

Compare this to the French economy where unemployment remains stubbornly high and their economy is not making any progress. The Labour leader Ed Miliband models his policies on President Hollande’s disastrous policies and we can see the direction of Hollande’s popularity in France.

There is still a need to get many more people in Ipswich working, and this can only come about with a continuation of David Cameron and George Osborne’s pro-business policies for another 6 years.
