The Education Secretary Justine Greening was visiting the University of Suffolk and Suffolk New College on Wednesday, to announce the Government’s plan to boost social mobility through education, helping people to achieve their true potential.

Justine Greening called on educational establishments, businesses and local communities all to play their part in bringing opportunity to every young person’s doorstep.

This plan will deliver targeted action, focusing £800 million of government investment on communities that feel they have been ‘left behind’.

We will boost access to high quality language and literacy, create a world-class technical education system and build a partnership with businesses to improve advice, information and experiences for young people.

Since 2010, 1.9 million more children are in good or outstanding schools, record numbers of young people in education or training and more disadvantaged pupils going to university.

Cllr Eddy Phillips, Conservative Borough Group Deputy Leader said "It was great to speak to the Education Secretary today about the Government's plans, and this shows their commitment to improve the lives and opportunities of young people in Ipswich and elsewhere."

Mr Corbyn and his Labour comrades endlessly talk the country and Suffolk down, in a feeble attempt to make people feel disheartened about the state of the world seen through their socialist-tinted spectacles. Conservatives ARE building a country that is fit for the future:  we need to make sure every person and every place can fulfil their potential. It is ONLY the Conservatives who are empowered and committed to bring about these changes.
