DONORGATE HYPOCRISY

Although he likes to suggest that it is only the Conservatives who encourage 'payment for access' to decision makers, at the last count, Ed Miliband had had 43 meetings with Labour donors in his private office. He also had dinner at his private home and 5 meetings with a millionaire former tax exile who happened to get caught up in Tony Blair's cash for peerages row (remember that??). Yet Mr Miliband continues to condemn capitalist predators and asset strippers.

And, with Labour receiving 88% of its funds from the unions, including Unite (the tanker drivers union) and Unison, trade union leaders are also regular visitors to his private office and Ed Miliband has hosted House of Commons events for his paymasters.

People in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones, should they? Or is there one rule for wealthy Oxbridge-educated Conservative Ministers, and another for wealthy Oxbridge-educated Labour shadow ministers?
