The 4th "Carols on the Green" led by St Augustine's Church and Rushmere Christian Fellowship, based at St Alban's High School, occurred last Saturday afternoon, at the green area opposite Penshurst Road shops.

The event was supported by the Ipswich Over 50's Brass Band and the St Augustine's Puppet Team.

Bixley Councillor Eddy Phillips read one of the Bible Readings (pictured). The Mayor Cllr Sarah Barber also welcomed local residents and read the opening Reading.

Eddy was joined by fellow Bixley County Councillor Paul West in the congregation.

Eddy said "The Bixley Councillor team were pleased to again donate some of our small locality budget to the organisers to put on the service. As usual it was very well attended, and everyone enjoyed the hot drink and mince pie at the end, because of the cold weather!"

If you know of organisations or community groups which have need for small grants for specific projects, then please do contact your nearest Conservative councillor (see the People Page) who will be able to advise on options of sourcing funds.
